Talking about design for Additive Manufacturing and Medical Implants
Professor Martin Leary is an internationally renowned expert in the field of Additive Manufacture (AM), with expertise in experimental characterisation, numerical modelling and topological optimization of AM lattice structures. Professor Leary’s research impact addresses the limited availability of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) tools available for the application of Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies. In particular, he has developed novel DFAM tools for topology optimisation of AM lattice structures, and generative design algorithms for patient-specific medical implants and advanced radiotherapy phantoms.
